The way to tell if yours is an Adderly Pk car is that the chassis number ends with F

Sadly mine isn't

it's No 1269349 first registered 1st February 1970, with no Cowley or Adderley suffix on the number.

Oh well, musn't grumble.

How can I tell what colour it was originally (i.e. which white?).

according to the potteries website it was either

snowberry white with a red coachline
glacier white with a black coachline
white with a gold coachline

seeing as I'm not going for originality, maybe pearlescent white?

Glacier white were only made at Adderly.

Only the early cars had the colour on the chassis plate. My Guess would be snowberry with red stripe. (never heard of a gold coachline.....)

According to Ray Newell's book in 1969 - 1970 travellers were produced in:

Glacier white with black interior and black coachline
White with red, blue, green or black interior and gold coachline

The adderley park travellers were also glacier white but had either navy, red or geranium interiors with a flame red coachline

Snowberry white was introduced in 1967 but discontinued on travellers in July 1969 at chassis number 1257181

Glacier white was the only white used at adderley park but it doesn't follow that all glacier white travellers were made there.

So dependant on the colour of Andrew's interior he has either a glacier white or white car, although if he has a black interior it will be difficult to tell which 'white' he has unless it still has the original coachline.

Edit: just noticed his earlier post which states that he has a black interior

Looking at the Invoice for my 1969 Trafalgar Blue Traveller it came from Adderley Park 4
The car number is MAW5 1265444

I would have thought that one quick check would be a NMP plate. I've always believed that the Adderly Park Minors didn't have these, not being produced at Nuffield.
Could be wrong and, as always, am happy to be corrected.

I assume the parts were just assembled at adderly park, and therefore the bodyshells would still be made elsewhere?

I think bodyshells were shipped to either Adderley or Cowley or Abingdon these plates would have been on all cars, but with years of welding have been cut out. Some cars will still have them.

My plate had to be cut out about 3 years ago

it was all rusty so couldn't be read anyway

ooh exciting! Going to be getting my Hetty Wainthrop hat out in the morning and have a look to see what I can find. Boris's chassis number is MAW5 1289509 but no F - registered in March '71. I have yet to have a good look around him and have only waded half way through the paperwork that he came with (only had him 36 hours)

I did ask about the F on your intro thread.

If the chassis number doesn't have an F at the end then its a "normal" car. Not an adderly one. Prob one of the last few built at cowley mind.

I can only guess its a red colour, the other one I don't remember seeing is Galleon Blue.
