Spray gun
Hi there!
Can anyone recommend a good gravity feed spray gun? I find mine fiddly to control and it seems to get clogged easily.
Maybe it's just me though!
Thanks for any advice.

I use a DeVillbis Gti but thats serious wedge new.
Have got an old underslung Draper gun thats quite forgiving but it really depends on your compresser as some guns use massive amounts more air than others. As you say it also leaves a little more paint in the pot when finished.
Our old spare DeVillbis gun uses twice the air of the newer one so can't really do many big panels as the compressor can't keep up with it.

Worth keeping your eye out I picked up our spare for £50 (with a Die grinder and an orbital sander) at a garage sale.
Bargins are out there but you just need to be lucky.

what are you spraying,celly/2K ? are you thinning it, how old is the paint, what needle size has the gun, how long are you leaving it mixed or in the pot,do you strip the gun fully everytime you spray, what CFM are you using have you a water/oil trap in the airline or a regulator and are you filtering the mix, does the gun have its own filter.

For things with even slightly odd spellings I often usehttp://www.fatfingers.com/Default.aspx
It hasn't thrown up anything very useful this time but worth trying for almost anything.

Well I've had a bit of good luck. My daughter's driving instructor has offered to help me finish the Midget. Well why is that good I hear you ask?
He was a professional paint sprayer for 21 years so I'm hoping to learn a bit from him. I just found out that I'd mixed the base coat wrong, I wasn't supposed to add any hardener! Oops! The hardener was meant just for the lacquer. It says on the tin mix 2:1 with hardener. I was using 10% thinners.
Thanks for all your great advice!

ask them if the basecoat should have had polyester thinners and not standard thinners. Using stanard could cause issues when you put te clearcoat on (blistering or solvent pop)
Also check the laquer mix some are 2-1-10%, others are 4-1-10%, do not thin the final coat as you would with celly, good luck, hope you are painting this one with the relevant conditions, and not on the drive !
