:-? I'm intrigued with the multimeter i've just bought but being a mature person (64) I find the enclosed information with it a bit gobbledegook. Is there anyone that could PM me with some basic info on how to use it and set it etc., as I would like to be a bit proficient so that I could check various things on my moggy. Or has anyone got a book that they could recommend that I buy to help me. ( only if it is simple to understand )
cheers sid   :-?

What model meter is it ? Just plug the leads - twist the dial to DC volts - if there is a choice select 20 volts - and touch the probes onto the battery terminals. It should show ~ 12.6 volts when standing - and go up to 14 volts when the engine is running. Do keep the leads out of the fan !
I don't consider '64' to be 'mature' - you are only as old as you feel ! Don't talk yourself into 'old age' !!!!!!!!!!
