Indicators not working

Post by Geraldine »

All my indicators have stopped working, looked in the workshop manual and it said it was most likely to be a fuse. The stalk on the steering column dosn't work either, it did work occasionally but has stopped completely now!
If it is a fuse, are they easy to replace and could I get one somewhere like Halfords or are they only available from Morris spares dealers? Seems to be one thing after another at the moment, also scratched the paintwork moving my husbands bike out of the way!

If it's the fuse - then other things (wipers/heater fan/brake lights) will also not be working. Fuses are easy to change - the fuse box is on the left - up high - as you look under the bonnet. There should be a couple of spare fuses clipped into the holder - could just be corroded contacts on the fuse/fuse contacts - sometimes removing, rub with emery board and refit will do the trick. The fuse is glass - you should see a little wire inside - if it's broken then indeed the fuse is bust. Should get at halfords or any other place - very common part.
