I suspect a slight leak from a rear brake cylinder. To remove the piston it looks like you have to remove the pin holding the arm for the handbrake cable. My question is: can these cylinders be overhauled or do you have to buy new.
Also, the Haynes manual is less than useful on this topic. Can anyone recommend what is the best reference for maintenance of a '69 Moggy - Thanks
Rear Brake Cylinder Overhaul

Kits are available for overhauling the cylinders but they are fairly cheap to but as new items. Genuine parts are not much more expensive than pattern parts either. There is an official workshop manual which which may help you better than the Hatnes manual. If you wait a bit bmcecosse will post you a link I'm sure ;-)

just looking at the prices on the web, the cost of a new cylinder
£9.45 the cost of a service kit £4.95.
I would suggest IMHO that, being that brakes are possibly one of the more important saftey features of any vehicle, the the extra £4.50 would be money well spent.
(following another post i would point out the prices were on the web and PLUS VAT
