Cost of Car Transportation?

Post by BigDawgV8 »

Hi All,

Has anyone had a car transported lately?

Is the going rate still about £1 a mile or has it gone up considering fuel costs etc.?

Trying to work something out at the mo......................... :-?

Cheers

Paid about £1.30 per mile early April to bring the Convertible up from Salisbury.

When I sold my Land Rover Discovery the buyer wanted me to see if I could arrange transportation so I simply looked on eBay and numerous firms offering services.
In the end it was a firm who transported cars for the motor trade and collected te Disco on a return trip with an otherwise empty tranporter.
As you say worked out at about £1 per mile.

Ok,

Phoned the company today that we use at work and 260 mile round trip costed £260 at trade rates.
So £1 a mile and sadly, as I thought, too pricey for me..................................

Thanks for all the help
