Welding in patches....

Post by shymoggie »

When I patch up the hole under the seat runner, should the patch be inside or outside the car (ie underneath it) ?

Normally easier to do it inside & then seam around the hole from the underneath if at all possible... although I stand to be corrected..

Hello SM,
the neatest and best is neither, i.e. make the patch a dead size for the hole and butt weld all round. If your patch is going to be larger, put it underneath and seam weld all round, that way the moisture trap is inside the car.
