Pictures and question?

Post by Bigal_85 »

Hey hey,

So I bought a traveller back in November and it looks like it will be ready for the end of June. What was meant to be a simple tidy has turned out to be almost a full restoration!! New chassis, inner/outer wings, a couple of new wood sections and the rest of the wood re-doweled and treated, new brakes (with servo), new fuel tank, new suspension, new wiring loom, alternator fitted....the only thing missing is a re-spray...that's on the cards for next year. I think I will just enjoy the rest of summer with her. Some early pictures of the work can be found at:

There are lots still to be put up....stay tuned!!

Now for my question.....where do you all get insurance?? Who do you recommend? How much do you pay (I'm 24 with 5 years no claims)?

I use AON / Footman James who do really good classic policies and you also get a discount for being a club member. I have my blue minor agreed value insured for everyday use, sitting outside with unlimited mileage for £250, Im 32. The other 3 are on one group policy for about £200 all garaged.

Also with Footman James. But only 19 with no no claims so pay stupid amounts. But FJ was the cheapest of the lot.

I'm definitely with Footman James and as I said I'm only 19. I think the club has a 'young drivers' agreement with them.
