1954 Traveller,Documentation found in garage clearance

Post by Weirdmorris »

Hi all,Im a new boy . . ok not strictly a MORRIS MINER owner, but I have always loved the little motorcars . .

Why Im here . . Ive recently been helping a friend clear out his garage and have come across a book entitled,\\\'\\\'The MORRIS MINOR WORKSHOP MANUAL \\\'\\\',and with it is a series of documentation relating to a vehicle with the vehicle registration number OXK 299 ,and reading the enclosed paper work ,the vehicle is a 1954 MORRIS MINOR TRAVELLER,with the Chassis number of FLA11 254185 and the Engine Number of APHM 78360 . . .

Firstly is this vehicle stil in existance, and does the documentation hold any value or collectablility . . . to anyone

Also with the Worshop Manual is a \\\'\\\'Sunday Times series Motor Manual, covering the Vehicles III and JM ,MORRIS MINOR 1000 [Saloon,Convertible and Estate] ,again is there any interest in this Manual . . [No.17 in the series according to what it says on the cover . . ]

Any help would be gratefully recieved . . . . <br>[img:026467a7b5]http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.php?src=1243174395_9873[/img:026467a7b5]<br>

oxk 299 does not show up on the DVLA computer so it does not look as if it has been on the road for a very long time.

as for value very little If any I am afraid, it might of held a small value to the owner of the vehicle if it was still on the road but as this is not the case.. sorry if I am being a bit negative.

but thank you for taking the time to post the details here in thehope of finding the current owner.

Yes sadly it appears this car has perished because it has not been taxed for over 30 years. The only chance of it still being around is if someone has it at the bottom of their garden, it's parked in a hedge somewhere or it's in a barn. Worse case it's been recycled and is a baked bean tin. :(

But thank you for taking the time to try and find out, it's very much appreciated.

The Series II Traveller register may be interested in the documentation. email mark319@btinternet.com.
You could advertise the Workshop Manual in the For Sale section, I'm sure someone will find it useful
