Can anyone recommend a good spray gun as mine is a suction feed and I think gravity feed is better isn't it? How much does a litre of good thinners cost? I had to use standard as money is a bit tight! Here is a picture of the bonnet after the first coat:<br>

That sounds like an offer too good to refuse
I'll let you finish your moggie first and then we can talk again. I thought you were joking when you suggested setting up in business - you could be onto a winner - but you will probably need a bit more than petrol money and accommodation. Unless of course you just develop a passion for doing it out of the kindness of your heart. Grrrrrrrrrrate

Ok, I'll finish my blue moggie and I've got another moggie to practice on, and also two modern cars that need a lick of paint!
Yes I would like to set my own business up, I wasn't joking. I just need a bit practice! I've been repairing body work and painting cars for years now but proper spraying is new to me. I realise it takes a long time to become a professional sprayer but I think I can do a good job on classic cars. I was thinking that if someone couldn't afford an expensive professional job then maybe I would be a cheaper alternative.
I'd really like to become a paint sprayer but nothing is ever easy is it?

prep is the important thing here
also of course to do it as a buiseness you would need to do a bit more practice on yours until you are confident
also most cars would need to be taken back to good metal for reactions against old paint
and dont forget its all well doing your own but when folk are paying is a different thing all together
also good to learn sometricks of the trade as well
also normally glass needs to come out for a body spray
but good luck on it anyway

Fantastic
If I was nearer I'd be giving you a hand. Keep the photos coming and I'm sure you will be inundated with requests. For the pick-up I imagine it would only be fair for me to try and do some of the preparation work. I'm not looking for a super professional finish - just make it look better than it is now. (that won't be difficult)

That's the sort of job I was thinking of!ani wrote:FantasticIf I was nearer I'd be giving you a hand. Keep the photos coming and I'm sure you will be inundated with requests. That sounds great!ani wrote:I'll make a great big plastic bubble for Katie to work in and fix up a cold air blower in one end and a hover at the other - that should do the trick![]()

I will of course provide the bacon sandwiches and chocolate hob-nobsand a spare room with a big cooked breakfast every day.

If someone wants a Rolls Royce finish they can go to Rolls for it - Kate would be offering the sort of service I would want and therefore expect there would be many others who would be prepared to have the same. At the end of the day we get what we're prepared to pay for.
Katie - will you be able to do it the Tartan Pattern below
