using starting handle

i have been to look at a 1954 morris minor what has stood for 3 years the engine turns freely and was wondering would it be able to start by the handle if the battery is completely dead?

If the battery is completly dead, then it will not start. it will need power to the coil to make a spark. Jump lead it.

You need enough battery power to light the ignition light. However as the car has been standing you don't know if the coil, condenser etc are still working I would suggest a well charged battery would be advisable.
