I have now located three Minors - one green, one grey, one white - of varying ages, but all in need of restoration of one degree of severity or another, and all within a short drive of where I live.
Two of them are not currently on the market, though I get the impression that the owners of the non-running garden ornaments in question would be open to offers. The white one is currently on e-Bay, and I popped out to look at it today. In my opinion, the owner would be lucky to sell it in the condition it is in: quite apart from anything else, it's a long way to come on spec for what is basically a restoration job.
HOWEVER, it occurred to me that, whilst a restorer would not find a trip out here very conducive for one "wreck", because we are "so far away from everywhere" - and, granted, I drove to Herefordshire on Monday (to look at a minor of course) and it was three hours each way - someone might be interested if they could co-ordinate a trip and buy three at once, and tow them back to England (or wherever) all at once. Bob's your uncle, three Moggies saved, and everyone's a winner.
Would anyone like me to try and help facilitate such a commercial proposition? Anyone with any ideas as to how it might work? Is it a totally crap idea, or has it got some mileage (pardon the pun)?
