Front Parcel Shelf

Post by purplebargeken »

Hi. The one in my recently acquired 2 door 1000 is missing, although the vinyl D trim bit is in situ.

Does anyone have the dimensions of the parcel shelf or even better, some clear photos and dimensions? I am quite keen to fabricate one out of milboard or similar.

Can anyone help?

Cheers

They are available from suppliers, save you messing about. Not sure about the padded bar though.

You can get the padding/vinyl that goes around the bar, but I think you have to source a second hand bar.

The shape of the parcel shelf depends on the year of the car. they varied in the cutouts for the heater and the position of the mountings for the bar. Some were nearer the doors than others.
Older and more confused than I could ever imagine possible.

The early parcel shelves were shallower than the later ones. I don't know when they changed.

The card on mine is pretty much shot, so I've been thinking of replacing it with netting instead.

Thanks everyone, especially Andy for that link.

Lots to think about now.
