I been offered a '52 convertible 1 owner New MOT good underneath needs paint renewing and small cosmetic stuff like new carpet, What do you think the value of this would be?

Imposible to say without seeing.

If is rock solid but tired cosmetically I'd say arond about £1500-£2k

In the current climate, unlikely! We paid 2.5 for our solid 63 convertible with full MOT (they tested it the day before we got it) which had one or two rust spots on the upper body.....

It's very solid underneath, Morris minor I believe, had a engine rebuild recently as well, cheese grater grill original little square rear lights.

Lovely car just needs paint really

In the current climate the price is really what you want to pay for it - buyers aren't thick on the ground.
There are still folk asking top money for cars needing work.

'52 is more likely to be a Series MM although a few Series IIs were built in 52. However most of those were 4 doors and they probably all went for export.
In my opinion the Series MM is a better buy but then I am biased.
MM converibtles can fetch from fairly modest prices to silly money purely dependent on condition, especially the interior. Check the mechanicals over and make a sensible offer.
