Hello Cam,
if the car was scrapped with notification to that effect to the DVLA, then there should be no problem. I cannot imagine anyone spending that sort of money on an old V5 however, so perhaps there is some ulterior motive?
Selling a valid vehicle license plates or V5 is illegal, and infringes e-bay rules as well.
I've reported it to e-bay, but what they do is up to them.
Even if the car was scrapped or written off, it's simple to get it back on the road.. (unless you do it the legal way by actually fixing it).
Ray.
There are four or five log books for sale on ebay at the moment. I remember lots of people when the torys brought in the 25 yr tax exempt rule getting an old log book for their land rover and changing the identity. Highly illegal though! I never did, i found it easier to buy cars made over 25years ago then, or now, before 1972. Makes life easier.
I've seen vehicle documents advertised as mantlepiece ornaments before now, in an attempt to get round site rules! A standard mini can be made into a Cooper provided all the little differences are known and the quality of work is a1, then all is needed is a v5 and up goes the price.
