Hi all

I have been lurking around this site on and off ever since I bought my wife a rather interesting 4 door convertible last year but have not really had the time to contribute!

Obviously the car is a conversion but it suits our purpose as we have two young children! I have no information on who did the conversion but on the whole it is well done although the roof frame does need to be looked at as it does not fold that easily.

Thought that I would bite the bullet and join up as this looks like a great site to be a part of.

Plans for a spruce-up of the Moggy are on hold while I finish my own project (a V8 powered 1932 Ford replica) but I am planning on a winter rebuild before the 'dodgey' areas become major!

I will post up some pictures when I get a chance.

There is a chopped down 4 door in the Oxford Bus Museum.
It is mainly a bus museum but they took over all the Morris exhibits from the Longwall Beefeater pub in Cowley when it was refurbished.
The pub was going to skip the lot but we found out when we had a function there and with some negotiation they were saved. I think Judge was the person who was responsible.

As promised here are pictures of the car.

aupickup bought the car from a place called The Shilling years near Peterborough. He had a couple of moggys to choose from including a rather tidy 2 door but my wife fell in love with the convertible even though it was sold as needing a new clutch. Turned out when I got it home it just needed the clutch plate freeing as it had been stood for a while, which was a result.

Should make a good wedding car.
A word of caution. A lot of body strength has been removed so make sure there is adequate reinforcement in the sills and floor pan. Ensure that the doors open and close cleanly both loaded and unloaded

Hi Mike

That is what the guy said when we bought it!!

The strength comes from bars running down the roof line above the doors welded into the rest of the body structure. This picture hopefully shows what I mean.

Must admit before I bought the car I had a look at the car structurally and even went as far as jacking up the front on one side and checking that the doors still opened!!

That looks better, couldn't see that with the hood up. 2 door convertible strengthening sections might still be a worthwhile addition.

Hello all

I am new too although been coveting the boards from afar for some time. I am on my 3rd time lucky with Flossie - 1956 split screen 4 dr saloon. Just failed her MOT yesterday (slightly) but will have her back soon after respray and bit of welding.

1st time Apr05- £32 ebay madness from Worthing (i'm in norfolk) - trailered it back and stripped off the good bits before the gypsys took her away (yes really

2nd time Apr05 - £100 barn find - it ran but got condemned at MOT - stripped down and been useful for pimping parts for number 3.
3rd time - Mar08 - £1150 ebay find but visited 1st before buying (sensible girl...eventually). Roadworthy but in need of some tlc.

Anyone on here member of any norfolk branches ?

Will put up pictures once i get the old girl back

Hello there ! i've checked out your branch before and it looks a good one, unfortunately I am about 9 miles from King's Lynn so bit more of a trek over to your meeting places. Definitely won't be able to join in next sunday

but if she will let me Flossie and I would love to join your crew on the odd occasion.

. Still got to enquire about the West Norfolk branch but haven't seen as much info as for Iceni branch.
