Electronic oil pressure gauge
Hi all, has anybody had trouble with smiths electronic oil senders.Mine has started reading 100+ psi on tickover.Oil pressure relief valve was replaced with ball type and new spring so I don't have reason to suspect these.Gauge goes to zero when engine is stopped.

Ball and spring will easily put the oil pressure over 100 psi - been there/done that! . If the oil is cold - it can then shear the pump drive ! Try a weaker spring and bring the pressure back to ~ 75/80 psi max. I've never had any faith in electric oil P gauges - prefer mechanical type - but they too can be stretched if run off the scale.
