(And no, I'm not going for it. Apart from anything else, it's just too far to go).

I'd guess 1954. Grills can be swapped, but the dashboards can't (Well not easily!), so assuming original, the later Series 2 seats mean after 1953 and before the '55 season facelift give or take a few months...
May have been out of the country for the first two years and then registered new when it came back, or just a typo at some stage in its life.
