Door latch "n" catch
Hi, my door will lock, but i can still manage to open it when locked! i think the latch may be worn out and or the hinge, causing hte door to sink out of line. Or the catch may have worn out as well. Can this be fixed, i know the hinge can be, and i have a new pin but i think the latch is too worn out any help would be great! cheers, Ben

To check the hinge if you only half open the door and then try lifting the door up and down while looking at the hinges any wear should be seen in the hinges, want you dont need is to see the lower hinge and panel moving in and out as it means the lower park of the `A` post is corroded and will need a repair, what have you checked so far, its not something simple like a worn lock or as you say the latch, does it look worn ?
Cheers

The lock is a little worn, as the catch is from a traveller, theres no spring on it or so it seems, so as the door has been closed without the handle pulled out at the dame time the bit that slides over the catch has worn a bit, also the door does sink when opened, and the hinge is badly worn have you ever repaired the hinge? cheers, Ben
