I like mike do not understand the term windlace or wheel tub come to that.
From the pictures I can see on some websites..
http://www.automobiletrim.com/door-seal-fabric.html
it appears to be the trim that fits around the door but a bit confused by your mention of the wheel tub ( wheel arch I assume)? No interior trim around the back seats are chromed as far as I am aware, most trim are normally covered in a cloth/vinyl as in the picture on the link. of course if this has worn away over the years it could reveale the metal underneath.
If on the other hand this is not what you mean I think a picture of the piece you are talking off would help.
also could you confirm which style of moggy you are talking about..2 door / 4 door etc

i know exactly what bit you mean but can't explain it! dammit! either side of the rear seat there is a trim going around the rear wheel arch in an arc shape!
mine were not chrome ones, so i bought some on ebay that were, i think id depended on what model car you had as to whether they were chrome or pants mental.

I've seen plated ones in the past. Probably depends what year the car is, I think all 4drs are deluxe spec, but seen bright plated (may be nickel or chrome) and a sort of dull plated (probably galv, like the similar shorter seal covers on the vans). Would have thought painted ones would have worn badly.
cheers

Decided to have a look and a windlace is a type of door seal generally associated with furflex, unlike the Moggie type which is just a door seal and has a U section to hold it in place unlike the windlace.
Cheers
