Tyre Pressures
Can anyone advise the right reccommended pressures for a 62 van, with a 1098 cc engine fitted. Van will be carrying 200-330 kilos (including me!)
[sig]9068[/sig]"Wallace", now mine since 2 December 2008, and will have to get used to working for a living!

What tyres do you have? Radials would be my guess.
I'm guessing you have standard rims not the 8CWT versions so hopefully 145's or maybe 155.
The recommended tyre pressue for 145's is (was) only 22psi on saloons.
Personally I'm happier with 24psi front and 26 rear - with additional 2psi for heavy laden.
This is on the high side for most 145's and you will have a little more wear on the tread centre than the edges.
I never ran that many miles in my pick up (and only did 1500 miles laden) so not really sure if the settings should be much different (or not) for LCV's.
Hopefully someone who's run a van for decades will be able to advise better. (Dennis - aupickup)

Jan 07: back from a month thru North Africa (via Timbuktu) in a S3 Landy
June 07 - back from Zwickau Trabi Treffen
Aug 07 & Aug 08 - back from the Lands End to Orkney in 71 pickup
Sept 2010 - finally gave up breaking down in a SII Landy...
where to break down next?
2013... managed to seize my 1275 just by driving it round the block

Post Office Minor vans had 24/28 stenciled on the front / rear wheel arches. However that was with cross plies. I kept to those pressures with radials on my van with no problems.
I don't think tyre pressures are critical on a Minor (within limits) as long as they are balanced left to right across the axle.
