T/stst housing 1275 head.

Post by wanderinstar »

Can anyone tell me if there is a t/stst housing that makes fitting a 940 head easier on a Minor with standard radiator? I seem to remember reading somewhere that the MGB ones does the job. Can anyone verify that.
Yes I know MMC in Brum do one, but that is £19. I am a Yorkshireman :D

You have to drill the mounting holes slightly larger to fit the studs current ebay link is http://motors.shop.ebay.com/items/mgb-t ... trksidZm39 still works out a lot cheaper even with the weaker pound.

£19. I am a Yorkshireman
Somebody please help this man out! He's suffering enough as it is living on the wrong side of the Pennines!

Seriously though, I have the standard one that points in a funny direction and have a standard rubber hose that is bent too far but it does manage without leaking.
Older and more confused than I could ever imagine possible.

Yes I just have a standard cover and curved hose - it works. The 1275 Mini's use a top hose shaped like a Question Mark - which may be useful here too although I have never bothered to find out! Whatever cover is used - best to run a drill down the holes for a little extra clearance - and coat the studs with grease!

The B-Series housing with the holes enlarged to 3/8" diam, plus a touch of filing, allows it to fit the Minor and use a standard top hose perfectly - been doing for the last 10 years!

Just a matter of finding one - when I wanted one, there were still B-Series engined cars in the breakers yards, Marina/Ital etc., but now?
