Eye Test

Post by bigginger »

Count every 'F ' in the following text:

FINISHED FILES ARE THE RE
SULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTI
FIC STUDY COMBINED WITH
THE EXPERIENCE OF YEARS...

Go on, fill in the 'Poll' and I'll tell you how many there really are later...

I got the right number when reading it backwards... In the interest of efficiancy I'd already submitted a previous estimate though ;-)

Yup, Cam was right. Sorry not to have replied before, busy, but the answer I got with it was

"WRONG, THERE ARE 6 -- no joke.
READ IT AGAIN !

Really, go Back and Try to find the 6 F's before you scroll down.

The reasoning behind is further down.

The brain cannot process 'OF'.

Incredible or what? Go back and look again!!"

The explanation is clearly nonsense - but it's really hard to get right...

Anyone who counts all 6 'F's' on the first go is a genius.
Three is normal, four is quite rare.

Sorry to be picky Andrew but on close inspection of your first post the question says
Count every 'F '
You put a space after the F so I assumed that was the trick as there are only 3 Fs with a space after them in the text.

Sorry if I ruined the fun

I voted after the answer was posted, but I'd not seen it :)

I got 5 on first reading and then went backwards through it to make sure (and found the sixth) - anyone see how I ended up a tech writer before I got into nursing? ;)
