howdy y'all
me again
i have fitted new set of wheel bearing to my moggy and they where great 4 a while till the left side went, so thought o well musted fitted them wrong and got new set down and installed them making sure bolt was tight, great 4 couple weeks, now i just take mates pub and they left gone again. now must not lie been wet and kinda took corner to sharp and skidded for a bit after this had the horrid noise off of collapsed wheel bearing with a larg amount of play. same as time before.
is this down to my awful driving or is problem with hub or seating ect....
please advise

The front hub nut should be tightened to 35/40 lbf ft torque. The bearings are 'angular contact' and are designed to be 'pre-loaded', which is controlled by the spacer between the bearings, not the tightness of the hub nut.
When you fitted the bearings before, could you get any movement in the wheel afterwards? There should not be any, other than it being able to revolve!
Are you sure that you are putting the bearings in the right way round? Even with hard use they should last 10,000 miles, at least.

If you have the correct size bearings, and the spacers and washers fitted correctly then when the wheel nut is tightened you should, with a slight foward or backward turning of the nut be able to fit the split pin through the hole in the axle. There are usually 2 holes at right angles so choose the hole which is the best fit.
I notice that you say it is the left wheel bearing which is coming loose. The left axle wheel nut has an anti clockwise thread so that as the wheel turns forward it tightens the nut. I assume that the swivel pin is correct and hasn't been fitted with a right hand axle.

when you say 'moved' what exactly do you mean? When the hub nut is done up I can't see what is going to move, so a bit more info would help.the bearing closest to back plate has moved and causing play in hub,
