During the War they had the right idea - Double Summer Time - so why did it change back ??

i agree why mess about with the time does it benefit any one realy a number of years ago it was left as it was just for the one year then abandond cant remember what excuses the goverment used for not keeping it on ,,grandad

I think it has something to do with children travelling to school in darkness if I remember correctly.

think it has something to do with children travelling to school in darkness if I remember correctly.
There was a supposed accident in Stornaway, where a group of schoolkids were killed by a truck in the darkness. After this, the government decided to keep changing the time.

The accident never happened. It was a myth, but the men at the top know best.
