I did read the rules carefully... and followed them ;-)One person requests a picture of something; landmark, road, building, object, anything. The first person to post up a picture of that subject wins.
But it can't just be any old picture - it must have YOUR car in the picture, somewhere. So for example, if I was to say "lighthouse", the winner would be the first person to post a picture of a lighthouse with their car somewhere in the picture, e.g. parked in front of the lighthouse.

We haven't finished the last challenge yet, or can I claim the next one even when my picture does not meet the criteria set?RogerRust wrote:Ok Ray think of something I can take a picture of with MY CAR in the shot!
There is a 'Photography Contest' on the other site, but there the rules are the rules

To me, it was very, vey clear what was wanted. Even the thread is called ' Morris Minor Picture challenge'
But if it's that important, and no-one is going to meet the actual challenge set, then as you say Ray, forget it. Afterall it was only for a bit of fun, and now toys are being thrown out of prams. It really isn't worth it

Don't worry, no toys being thrown - just dissapointed that my efforts and humour were not appreciated.
Probably came across as harsher than intended but just had a brake failure on the way to see my dad's side of family (a lot less damage than last time I tried to visit them, as no police or injuries involved).
Just finished replacing the new (failed) brake shoes (with <500 miles on them), with the old ones I took off in May. When it comes to brake linings, you can see if rivets were not there, you can't see glue. Hence why they could use only a few dabs of glue, and risk a few lives

No physical damage thanks. We were lucky enough to be in a 30mph zone at the time (with a good handbrake), rather than 10 minutes earlier when we'd been heading between busy roundabouts at 60mph.
Luke still gets stressed about car crashes so a brake failure on the same route wasn't the best thing to happen.

You're both OK, that's the main thing.
I do understand your disappointment, but assure you that your humour was appreciated. As you say, comments can come across harsher than intended, and I had not had a particularly good day myself
Anyway, water under the bridge, do you want to set a new challenge.

Sorry for the grumpyness
in hindsight I shouldn't have posted when having a bad day. Rubbish quality new parts is annoying, but when it risks people's lives it's hard to laugh it off
Next a pic of Morris* Minor at a non-Morris/Austin/Rover car meeting - including plenty of the other cars of course.
* or an Austin based (Minor) LCV
I was thinking VW Beetles (as they have regular rallies, and the Minor would show them up ;-) ) but on second thoughts that is far too specific and would put most people off.

we need another challenge. make it something that i could do in New zealand, theres heaps of things coming up that i dont have a chance in doing because they are exclusively british. theres all sorts of universal things which can include everyone

Fuel Injected Datsun a15 engine, 5 speed 60 series datsun gearbox
