Trim information required for restoration on a 1969 van

Post by Warby »

I'm looking for some help rearding the trim options for a Morris 1100 van. The year of registration was 1969, but the current owner thinks it was produced in 1965?
Current colour is yellow, (hand painted 35+ years ago and was used as a Banksman support vehicle) but was originally grey.
I am going to attempt a full restoration on the vehical and the customer wants to select a new original colour and favours Azure blue. I have suggested that the interior will also have to be changed to suit, currently it is brown (door panels) and cream (headlining). (looks original)

The van prior to deconstruction is sound, it's covered only 28k miles from new and has never been welded, repaired or bodged up, and all the original panels will be re-used etc.

I just need some help in advising the customer the best way forward, thanks.

Hi Warby. Are you sure it's a Morris 1100 van, not a Morris Minor 1000 van?

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.

I'm new to the Morris Minor scene, please stick with me!
Reason why I stated it's an 1100 is because the engine that I stripped yesterday is a 1098cc
Not sure what the description is on the log book?

Hi Warby, welcome to the forum :D

The van project sounds great, I hope you can post some photos for us to see.

What information is it that you are looking for? I might be missing something but reading your post I can't quite make out exactly what it is you are asking.

OK, cool. I asked because the Morris 1100 was a completely different car to the Morris Minor (I'm not sure if they even made a van version of it). It sounds like you're in the right place! :)
