Pin-stripe

Post by psjorge »

Hi there,

I'm finishing the restoration of an early Series II (January 1954) 4-door saloon. The car is black with maroon interior. My questions is:

- Should it have a pin-stripe?
- If so, what colour? Red or maroon? Witch kind of red or maroon?

Many thanks,
Pedro

My understanding is that the pinstripe was red and that maroon wasn't an option. I would like to fit this colour to my car as, original or not, a maroon interior looks better with a maroon stripe but haven't been able to find one and my masking skills are very poor.
Older and more confused than I could ever imagine possible.

The pin stripe should have beeen red but I don't know what shade of red. Small tins of modelling paint (Humbrol?) should provide sufficient choice of colours and can be applied with a fine paintbrush. You can buy specific masking tape with pre cut lines that can be puled out to paint between from places such as Frost, Woolies etc....

Thanks a loto for your answers. I'll try to find a not very bright shade of red!
