saloon resto continues

Post by aupickup »

got the first fitting of front and back wings using original panels
very pleased so far

will be using all original chrome except rear bumper

the front bonnet and front panel are still fitted from the original car to get all the front wings aligned

final fit posibly by next weekend

will add more pics when more progress is done

this was a very original saloon, unfortunately 3 wings were bad and a big parking dent on passenger door
it needed minimal welding as can be seen from the photos
still all original floors and boot area needed no welding
all original interior in very good order but seats needed restrapping

looks a bit better with new wings on

hi all
what colour should my wheels be
it is a 1969 snowbery white saloon and says deluxe model

with apparently highly reflective number plates

Wheels should be dark silver according to Ray Newell's book

Do ESM really make the whole inner wing then Dennis. News to me, if its as good as the rear chassis legs then I know where I'll be shopping in future ! :D

the correct nuts for the wing bolts as well
that would be a bonus! The inner wing repair panel I used on the pick up in June had none, so that added a fair few hours re-making cages etc..

I can't get your links to work for the photos though :(
Ah - I refreshed the page and the links worked this time. Internet Gremlins again!

it is one thatesm themselves are making and i was impressed with it, and the caged nuts that show in the engine bay are a pretty good match to the original
