Reading "verifcation codes"

Post by linearaudio »

I've just spent longer than I wanted changing something in my Ebay account, the reason being my inability to read the verification codes which I had to copy to prove I was a real person making the changes. Is it just me who has a problem deciding a/ which squiggles are relevant, and which are part of the background, and b/ whether the squiggle is a funny "t", a funny "j" or a funny "i" etc. Also, are they case sensitive? Any ideas or comments anyone?

Some are better than others. My bank just started using them but theirs are good. The ones with upper and lower case letters combined wioth numbers and different type size are the one's I hate!!

You should be able to hit the 'try a different picture' button a few dozen tmes until you find one that looks easier to read.

Exactly why it took me so blooming long!! As you can refresh the image to get one that's easier to read, then why are the not-so-easy to read ones not so easy to read? (untangle that!)

probably because they had an idiot in charge of setting up the pictures (pay peanuts get monkeys?) and also because they overlooked getting a decent user trial.

The best ones are the ones that have an audio button so you can hear the letters and numbers as well as looking at them.

You probably need to install the drivers for it.

Bin there! Also contacted the (chinese) soundcard company, was told I had to take it to my local agent from the list of 24 given to me- all in China! Time to get a new one!
