To never suffer from electrical faults it would have to be something that doesn't have an electrical system.

I think they have a simple magneto. I know my sisters 2 cylinder 650cc Visa did and that was a souped up 2CV engine.
Mind you it did develop all sorts of other problems, but admittedly not electrical ones.

It's not a magneto, just a single coil to which the HT leads connect, it fires every revoloution so there is a wasted spark.
