I dont own a minor at the moment but im planning one getting one for my next project
My only concern would be the weight.... as these are big cars (in comparison to a mini etc) im sure they wont be as light as say, a mini. what is the 'average' weight of a minor, and is there any ways of reducing it but still keep it usable for 4/5 people i.e. leaving the rear seats in!!
looking for something to stick a motorbike engine in need rear seats just incase i need em if the 'family car' goes off road for any reason.
Ive done a search for bike engine conversions and found a thread which makes an interesting read but as i dont know how much they weigh to start with doesnt really help. bike engine minis are around 500kg and ive seen a mk2 escort with a bike engine on youtube which is a lot heavier than a mini, im not sure where a minor fits between the two cars (assuming its not as heavy as an escort!)
Fit plastic windows - and f/glass wings/bonnet/boot, maybe f/glass doors - or just skin them with aluminium, and remove all trim etc. But even then - a 2 door car is never realistically going to get down to 500Kg.
Of course - the m/bike engine etc may be quite a bit lighter than the A series parts - especially if going rear mounted engine and drive which will eliminate the prop shaft and rear axle.
