marina/Ital flywheel
Have any of you guys got a marina/Ital flywheel that you could take some details from? I want to know where the 1/4 mark is in relation to the single dowel hole ( the one that locates on the dowel in the crankshaft spigot) also I need to know if the flywheel is recessed to locate on this spigot. thanx.
I do have a little question for you Marina / Ital engined chaps..... Is the Marina 1.3 exactly the same as a 1.3 Ital ? If I ever need to change anything on my Ital engine can I go for Marina spares ? As there seems to be far more of them about
Thanks,
Jim
Thanks,
Jim

The marina and ital engines are pretty similar but there are some differences. The main ones being that the Marina is A-series and the Ital A+.
To be honest I would say that the Ital has the best parts support as the 1275 A+ engine was continued in Minis until quite recently so a lot of the parts (excepts things like cranks etc) should be easy to obtain. Also the same engine was fitted to the 1.3 Maestro, again everything except the crank arrangement was pretty much the same, and there are plenty in the scrap yards.
