will a 948 gear box fit on my re built 1340 engine ?
just a quick one really , having finished rebliuding our new 1340 engine .next saturday i need to drive my 948 moggy to work, for the transplant .
ive ran out of funds so i need to know if the box will bolt on the back plate of a 1275 plate with 1275 clutch etc and will the 948 clutch fork work etc thanks for reading all comments will help

Why is the Midget box any better than the Moggie one as far as I know the only differences are the reverse light switch and it uses roller bearings which cost more to repair, or is there something else as well.yes you need at least a 1098 moggie box, but best is midget 1275 box

Seems a bit obtuse to fit the 948 box back onto a 1340 engine, as BMC says it would soon eat itself!
Have you thought about a 5 speed ford conversion? It would be well worth it considering you engine spec.

Ultimate rust cure for your moggy....paint it brown, at least that way you dont notice the rust as much!!
