Engine colour paint code

Post by marktp »

This has probably been asked before but please bear with me as I am new! I am currently restoring a 4-door 1958 MM which has now got a reconditioned engine and gearbox - before I put the engine back in the engine bay I would like to respray it. Does anyone know what the green engine colour is called and better still have a paint code for it?

Out of interest - I am an expat living in New Zealand - there are a lot of Morris minors here - I suppose it helps that they don't put salt on the road. My own car is a bit jaded but completely rust free - it needs lots of loving attention but is basically sound.

The paint was simply referred to as BMC Green AFAIK. ESM Part Number TIN101. If you mix Japlac British Racing Green with Japlac Jet black using a 50/50 mix, you will get a very close match.

Many thanks for this - I'll get on to it straight away! By the way, I shall be respraying the body a different colour (the original is a sickly pea green which is badly chipped) - what colour is your traveller?
