Traveller Tyres

Post by NickyTorbet »

I need a new set of tyres and my local garage are keen to fit traditional replacements rather than Bridgestones but are having problems tracking them down. Does anyone know where I can get tyres in the Maidenhead area?

By 'traditional replacements' do you mean cross-plies? I wouldn't recommend that unless they are for show use only. The Bridgestone B 381 Ecopia 145/80 R14 radials are very good tyres for everyday road use.

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.

Crossplies are avaalble - a few hours searching on tinternet might find you a reasonable price but as mentioned they are a very poor alternative to radials, so steer clear of them unless you want to enter concours.

Sorry it's a little late...

I use "Black Circle tyres" - national franchise with our local fitter near Sandhurst - BUT for £9 they will come and fit the tyres on your drive.

I had 2 cars, 6 tyres so that saved me two trips + lots of time.

The tyres fitted wre "TOYO" - tubeless (& without the tube), fitted, balanced etc.

Far too early to give a report on the tyres' handling & life...
