Hi could any one help. I have a 1967 morris that was completly renovated 10 years ago. unfortunatly due to one thing and another, the last 4 years has stood in the garage. The wheels are solid and athough if i move it forward and backwards the wheels are grinding and It feels I am pulling a tank. the hand brake has allways been off and wheels choked. but they are stuck. Is there any way I can manually release them so as to get it to a garage . I realy have basic knowledge thanks.

Take the wheels off one by one, give the drums a few sharp whacks with a hammer, put the wheel back on and move onto the next corner,

Sounds like the shoes have seized to the drums, the other thing you can do if you can spin the drum at all is to slacken the adjusters right off and tow the car as the wheels spin the shoes should release.

If all fails, take off the drums (which could well be tricky) and remove the shoes/cylinders

Be sure not to hit the outer diameter of the drum, only the flat face that the wheel sits against or you could dent and ruin the drums! :o
