For a 1966 model it should have a 1098 engine (look at the engine number - close to the nearest spark plug to the front) it should say 10 followed by some other numbers and letters.
The Morris 1000 is the model and not the engine size (although it did start out as the engine size). Both the 948cc cars ('56-'62) and the 1098cc cars ('62-'71) carried the same '1000' badge.
just makin sure !!!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong...
Series MM and Series II were "Morris Minors" and badged as such.
Series III and Series V were "Morris Minor 1000s" but badged as "Morris 1000" unless you had a LCV which was not badged.
Series IV were "Morris Minor 1000s" but badged as "Minor 1000000"

Series MMs and series IIs were indeed badged as Morris Minors
The unofficial (then) series III was the Minor 1000 (948)
The series IV was given to the Mini.
When the Minor millions were produced (350 of them) they were series III models and only the 350 special editions were badged as Minor 1000000s. Then the badge returned to the Minor 1000 for the rest of the series III models (948) and the later series V (1098 models).

Yeah, well officinados who like to divide the whole production of Minors into section do-so as Fweddy stated. This is especially helpful when checking the colour of your minor as show on Minor Mania:
http://www.minormania.com/gallery.php?p ... olourcodes
You'll see that there is no Series IV listing, as Cam said the Series IV was for the fist of the Minis (Morris Mini Minors and Austin Se7ens). The data for the Million Minors is included in the Series III data table on this site.
