Hi folks,

well the MOT'ers are back, see you managed to meet last week (nice to see the tradition of last minute pub maintained).

Where are we this week then? the old fav of the empress? Won't be in the minor, she needs some surgery, But I'll be there.

not even got that far in the problems yet but that is another odd one I have to look at

first have to change the gear box as 2nd has gone.

but thats a good point... Colin was following me and commented on wheel wobble, so I jack up and span the wheel, did not look good, put spare on and still did not look good, drum looked bad, so took that off, and its the hub rotating off axis, its a new 1/2 shaft I put in a few weeks ago is not flat on the end? so I still have to remove it and see otherwise assume the bearing is shot? any other ideas?

thanks Paul, still have one good old 1/2 shaft that i can try, if that is the cause of this wobbly wheel problem a certain supplier is going to get a phone call. But each problem in turn me thinks.

Is anyone around at the weekend to give me a hand swapping the box? OK to get it out on my own but remember needing a hand getting a few of the bolts back in once it goes back home (shudders at what a fuss it was last time). Also need welder access as already have one captive nut turning on the cross member!

directions/map for the empress....

http://sadmog.morrisminor.com/pubs/empress/empress.html

basically come off on junction 2 and choose your route to get on the road that runs parallel to motorway and then you can't miss the pub

well with luck the other 3 bolts will be ok if so I'll leave the cover off and pop over some time to catch the one missing bolt

I'll see what help i can drum up for the swap it really is only that point when you are on your back and the box meets the block and you need the first bolt or two in place!

see you all tomorrow

Don't suppose anyone knows somewhere round here that would make a brake pipe up do they?

Looking for front T piece to passengerside front wheel. Got a nice little kink in it, and thats pretty much all thats holding me back from getting the brakes done.....
