That depends whether the C and Z are seperate physical hard drives or partitions of the same drive. If partitions, its possible to change the amount in each drive, i.e. take a few GB from Z and put it in C. However, there is a risk losing data doing this. I would leave it as it is, install new software on C and store your files on Z.

Just save everything to Z. If you need to allocate more to C then you will need software such as "partition Magic", but make sure you back up all your files you dont want to lose in case it all goes wrong.
Cheers John - all comments IMHO

Buy another hard drive! You can get 80gb or 120gb hard drives for around £35 nowadays then save all your stuff to that. If ever C or Z went wrong all your stuff on the new drive and will be unaffected.

What opperating system are you running? If you are running vista there is an inbuit program to help you change this.

And thats why you should use Linux!

On a serious note though. Yes, it *should* be possible to re-allocate space if you need to provided they are both on the same physical drive. I can have a look at some point if you want.....

hi, yeah i will be buying an external hard drive in the next week or so, but this is the family comp, nothing really gets put on here, so i dont need that much memory in the back up. It is the same physical drive. so...how do you move memory over to C...??

Use a partition manager such as "Partition Magic" to move storage over to C. Its hard drive storage, btw not memory.
