Timing Cover (again, sorry)

Post by polo2k »

Hey all, ive been having some nasty oil leaks on an engine I rebuilt 8/9 years ago, After digging around in the parts I pulled off, I realised that the Engine originally had a felt ring on the nose of the crank. When I fitted the duplex timing chain, I was advised to use the later version with the sprung, rubber lipped seal.
If ive had a dappy moment and fitted the pully off the Felt ring pully to the rubber seal, would that be leaking everywhere? Could the cure be to simply swap pullys?

No - same pulley applies to all. But you really must have the oil thrower in there to keep oil off the seal.
