Restored Morris Minor Traveller Sign Van

Post by angelgild »

Hi There everyone.
My second time on this site. I have been restoring a Morris Traveller for the last 6 months to use for my sign business. I finished the glass and carvings a few weeks back and fitted them to the car.
This is how it all looks now. I now can see how long it takes to restore a vehicle (never again) but this was worth it in the end I guess.
I understand there are lots more classic car events over the next year so I will place her in some of those. This is how she looked with all the glass in - never had time to finish the other back glass panel or even put my telephone number on the doors. I settled on making a temporary 60 year anniversary badge for the Morris Minor day in Paignton April 19.
Anyway hope you like the finished look.
Dave

What a fantastic Traveller it looks really great, was the 6 months work for the whole restoration if so thats impressively quick, and as the others have said you must bring it to the National for the 60th celebrations.
Cheers

you might want to take the traveller to some custom/modified rallies too, you might well get some orders.... personally I would want you to decorate every single glass surface on my van, if I could possibly afford it!!! :D

I'll bet that would take the wind out of the sails of those that refer to the 'Brasso Brigade' and 'Nut Polishers'

Really beautiful Dave, and a real credit to you. Well done :D

Vary impressive. Its good to see that there are still tradesmen and artists alive and doing quality work.

Thanks! here are some more glass panels I have made for pubs.
I will post these but I do appreciate this is more for Morris Minor interest than signs but this gives you an idea what I do. I have made lots of reverse glass signs for London pubs in the same style and techniques of 100 years ago. and they are all hand made. I have also made them for other cars with gilded windows.

Deleted again, by Andrew, as (like Dennis says after this) it's in breach of the terms and conditions of this board.

There's another forum here - http://mog.myfreeforum.org/index.php - which doesn't have these restrictions, btw

Sorry guys! will post where you said.
