Horn - Retrofit Steering Wheel

Post by redduster »

Attempting to fit banjo? type steering wheel, 3 sets of 4 chrome spokes, to a 1970 instead of the 2 plastic spoke original type. problem is horn push. Later type is shallower and smaller diameter as opposed to the older lumpier type trying to fit. Challenge is the actaul push bit that is pressed as it appears different to the newer one.
Am I assuming the worse ? Is it a direct replacement or do I need to modify, change, delete or add bits?
Any ideas?
Cheers Charles

They are indeed different, but I don't remember having any problem with the swap

You must use the horn push designed for the type of wheel! Did you not ask this Q already ??

Ah - I assumed that s/he was using the push from the banjo wheel with the banjo wheel. They aren't swapable as units between wheels, it's all or nothing
