Rear box sections?
Hi, has anyone replaced the rear box sections that runs from under the back seat over the wheel arches and all the way through to the boot. If so, what is the correct name for them, and how do they come out. Do you have to cut the inner wings and floor to release them? I have welded patches on them in the past for friends but never had to replaced them.

I think you can get the correct already shaped box sections. If not I, can cut steel to shape and weld them over the existing box. I just wanted options if it was easer to cut a section out and weld a new part section in or a full section in. I cannot see the box section on a suppliers lists (the ones with photos) and I do not know the correct name of the box section.aupickup wrote:looks like it would be one heck of a job

It is really difficult to get at, I know the bits you mean.
I could get at them (at least one side) when I had the sills and inner floor sections off at the weekend.
You'd be rebuilding the real guts of the car. I also couldn't get repair sections for in there. I don't think you could just replace the box section, they're integral to quite a few bits of floor, inner wing etc.
