Contact Sets for Ducellier Distributor

Post by CLIPPERBLU »

I'm pretty sure that my newly-acquired 4-door has a 1300 Marina engine (i.e: upside down spin on oil filter behind the distributor, no tappet chests, forged rockers etc). On further investigation it appears to have a Ducellier distributor but I can't see any part numbers on it. As the car won't start due to worn points, can anyone please confirm what the distro' is and any good parts Nos for disributor and points?. Also, any idea if I can change to a Lucas distributor if required? Many thanks. :D

Not aware that Duc dizzy was ever fitted - and yes - you can certainly swap in a Lucas dizzy. Hellfrauds should have the points for you - take the old ones with you for comparison. But surely if you clean up the points - it should start the car, maybe not last for ever - but should get it started.

Many thanks. It's definitely a Duc distro becuase it's stamped on the side but sadly can't read the part no. Cheers. :D
