The Morris wasn't noisy but having just replaced the crank shells and the tining chain it now runs like a sewing machine!
I think most of the noise was coming from the timing chain allowing the camshaft to clatter round as there was quite a bit of 'backlash' in the drive.
The shells and chain have done about 80000. The shells were starting to break up and the chain was just worn out!
So Much Quieter!
