Hi,
My headlights work on main but not on dipped. I've checked all the connections and earths and fitted a new sealed beam unit in case the bulbs had failed but still nothing on dipped
.
Any suggestions as to what the problem could be?
Thanks,
Louise

have you checked the connections on the dip switch?

Sorry for sounding dim (like my headlights
) but where are these exactly? Are they easy to get too?
Thanks

Dipswitch is just to the left of the clutch pedal, and I suspect this might be your reason for no dipped lights
Try pushing the switch with your foot and see what happens.

I'm thinking Louise knows that
Do check the connectors on the cable leading to the switch though

In the old trav the lights failed a few times... wiggling the wires at the connector to the dipswitch sorted it though

Yes, thank you MoggyTech. Andrew is correct, I had worked out where the dipswitch is
Whereabouts are the wires that I need to wiggle? Are they accessible from inside the car near the dipswitch or are they inside the bonnet?
(and before anyone says it, I do know where the bonnet release lever is
)

They plug in to the top of the dip switch, should have a black plastic connector

And if they are ok - follow the wires up to the point where they meet the rest of the wiring loom - and check the connections there. If still no go - then you need to start looking under the bonnet - you are looking for a loose blue-with-red stripe wire. Main beam is blue-with white stripe.

Thanks everyone. I'll take a look tomorrow and will hopefully be able to sort it.

All sorted! I found a loose wire - blue with red stripes - dangling under the drivers side glove box. I connected it back up and all is fine.
I must have dislodged it when I replaced the heater a while back.
Another problem solved thanks to website advice
