'It was in the late Seventies I think that the Heritage Motor Centre (UK) did a search for the first mass-produced Minor found that Number One did in fact still exist. They managed to purchase it from the owner for the princely sum of a brand new Minor 1000.'
The search was in 1960 by Morris Motors and it was swapped for a Minor Million.
Admittedly it would be quite an interesting prize to be able to get a Brand new minor in the late seventies.

I remember an article in the Daily mirror (I think) about a man building a 'brand new minor' from dealer parts it showed a picture of him stood at the side of his car and there was at least an inch difference in the moulding line between the bonnet and the door! Plus there used to be a 1983 registered 'y' reg one it had never been road regitered untill 1983 and received a 1983 plate wonder if either of those are still around.
