Hello S95,

from memory the check for a ballast or non ballast coil is that the L.T. connections have a resistance of about 1.5 ohms for the former and 3 for the latter.

Correct Alec - ohms tells all! My (ex Oswestry) TR7 has a 6 volt coil! haven't checked the ohms on that yet.
