clutch pedal shaft

Can anyone tell me how to remove the clutch/brake pedal shaft. I've removed the castleated nut and spacer and it looks like it should simply knock through towards the gearbox but it wont budge. Is there something else I need to do. It's a late model van I'm working on.

the centre bush could be seized to the clutch pedal shaft, i had this once and had to cut it out

is the rest of the clutch linkage off from the gear box?

It's all loose ready for the shaft to move to the left.

The separating bush doesn't move. should it be loose/turn?
